Modesto Area Express (MAX) Riders, we hope you enjoyed Free Rides All July! This campaign was funded through a grant from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) under the Low Carbon Transit Operations Program (LCTOP).
MAX and Modesto Area Dial-A-Ride (MADAR) will have another Fare Free month in August! This effort is in response to increased cases of Corona Virus Disease-2019 (COVID-19) in our area. We hope that by continuing to limit interaction between drivers, passengers, and the farebox we can help mitigate the spread of the virus and provide much-needed relief to our heroes at local medical centers and hospitals.
Practice social distancing, and please remember to wear your mask or face covering while waiting at the bus stop, riding, and exiting vehicles. Masks, not cash, will be required to ride. Please stay home if you are sick!
