Modesto Area Express (MAX) riders can purchase and use bus tickets or passes on their smartphones or other mobile devices quickly and conveniently by downloading the Token Transit app in the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). This app eliminates the need to wait in line for passes or have exact change for the bus, so you can get to the places you need to go faster on MAX. When you are ready to use your mobile pass, tap your ticket or pass to activate and enable your Bluetooth and Location settings. As you board the bus, tap your phone to the Token Transit validator that is attached to the farebox. The validator will beep to indicate the pass is valid and you can board.
