Not only will there be Free rides all of the month of June to help combat the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), there will also be Free rides all of the month of July 2020!
Modesto Area Express (MAX) fixed routes (including New Ceres and Escalon service), MAX to Bay Area Regional Transit (BART) Commuter Express, MAX to Altamont Corridor Express (ACE) Commuter Express, and the New MAX to Stockton Commuter Express will be free to all riders. This is MAX’s second Free Rides All July! To fund the program, MAX received a grant through California Department of Transportation (Caltrans)’ Low Carbon Transit Operations Program (LCTOP). The LCTOP was created to provide operating and capital assistance for transit agencies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve mobility, with a priority on serving disadvantaged communities.
