The S Social Media Policy

Stanislaus Regional Transportation Authority (StanRTA) is the largest transit system in Stanislaus County. It hereby sets forth the following policy and disclaimers for its use of social media. “Social Media” is any web-based platform hosted by a third party that enables users to participate in social networking.
StanRTA considers social media an invaluable tool to facilitate communication and transparency with the public. Therefore, StanRTA utilizes social media, including, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, to keep current and potential riders up to date on Track the S rider alerts, news, events, and promotions. YouTube is also used to host recordings of StanRTA presentations and how-to videos.
Disclaimer Communications
Comments made to StanRTA using a social media channel, or page will in no way constitute a legal or official notice or comment to StanRTA for any purpose unless noted that comments will be part of a public record. StanRTA cannot attest to the accuracy of all the information provided by third parties or any other linked sites. StanRTA does not endorse any comments or images posted on its social media pages, and such comments or images do not necessarily represent the views of StanRTA.
Oversight
StanRTA frequently monitors its social media accounts Monday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and will respond to inquiries promptly. Please note responses may be delayed from Friday through Sunday and on holidays. However, all service-related questions or comments that require an immediate response should be directed to StanRTA customer service at (209) 527-4900. Your questions may also be answered by using the Ask the S app or visiting the Ask the S webpage.
Code of Conduct
StanRTA appreciates your comments, ideas, and concerns and encourages respectful discourse. To best serve the public, the following code of conduct provides guidelines on how to best interact with StanRTA social media pages. StanRTA does not discriminate against any viewpoint but reserves the right to remove comments and block individuals that violate this Code of Conduct.
StanRTA considers the following comments unacceptable:
- Vulgar, offensive, defamatory, or harassing language.
- Personal attacks or offensive terms that target specific individuals or groups.
- Comments that incite violence or illegal activity.
- Comments that promote, endorse, or oppose a service or product, political party, person campaigning for elected office, or ballot proposition.
- Promotion of goods or services.
- Comments infringing on copyrighted or trademarked material are deemed to be an infringement of intellectual property.
Privacy
StanRTA privacy policies do not apply to its social media channels and pages because those channels and pages are not hosted by StanRTA. By accessing or using each particular StanRTA social media channel or page, you are accepting the practices described in the hosting platform’s privacy policy.
